They Had Eyes of Silver

Veterinarian Reina Kirke is exhausted. So, when her best friend suggests a European vacation, she doesn’t hesitate. A much-needed break and a chance to investigate her mysterious family tree sound perfect. Too bad she’s in no way prepared for what she finds. The fairytale town in Belgium hides family secrets grounded in the supernatural. Legends of werewolves and witches surround her, and a taboo love affair threatens to pull her into a danger she might not be able to handle.

Review
I absolutely love this book!!!
I am incredibly fussy when it comes to shape-shifting romances, but I loved the sound of this instantly (plus the cover is absolutely amazing!!) and I am so pleased that I read this one, I am hooked and addicted to the Wulfin series and can’t wait for the next one.
There is so much about this book to love; romance, intrigue and mystery with a seriously hot, hot, hot hero and a complex heroine who have a second chance at finding love.
I can only describe this as a grown-up fairytale, it has mystical creatures, magic, enchantments and a good versus evil subplot, with a little adventure and plenty of romance thrown in this is an absolute doozy!!
This is the first book in the brand new Wulfin series which follows a very unique family of shape-shifters, a family who literally are in tune with their wild side. I love the Woodwards (and the various off-shoots of the pack) soon-to-be alpha; Blaise is a complicated man, he is a man who will never turn his back on the responsibility he knows the course of events to come and will shoulder it, I have fallen head over heels in love with this man – I have always like a man who is in tune with his sensitive wolfish side. And this man knows exactly how to use that tempting wolfish side to good effect! He is everything you would look for in a hero; strong, proud, loyal, passionate, sexy as hell, cheeky, funny, charismatic, charming and a thoroughly gorgeous and intelligent man who knows how to respect a woman and how to treat her like a goddess.
Honestly, he can take me for a run through the wood anytime he wants!!
Raina is strung out and exhausted, she accepts her friend Alek’s invitation to join him as he travels to the gorgeously fairytale Belgium to visit his family. His rather mystery family! She could do with time to reflect and get her head straight, but as soon as she steps foot in the village her entire life and everything she thought she knew is dramatically altered. People she thought she trusted have lied to her, and she discovers a part of her that she never thought could happen.
The story is mostly told through Raina’s perspective, but we do get to hear Balise’s side of things too, I love these two they are a wonderful couple. Their quest for love is fraught with roadblocks and interfering family and after years, they finally get the chance to rekindle their love, but even then it doesn’t go smoothly. There is so much that is unsaid, things that we the reader and Raina must discover. The chemistry between Blaise and Raina is off the charts, the air crackles with mutual lust and attraction, and magic fills the already glittery and mystical air.
I thoroughly enjoyed this, the pacing is perfect, and the story flows sweeping you along on the current, I adore the characters (I may have mentioned how much I loved Blaise) he and his family are fabulous and I am looking forward to getting to know more of the Wulfin, especially Alek who judging by how this story ended will hopefully get his own story.
For those like myself who are picking this genre then I can say without a doubt that this is amazing, it’s utterly mesmerizing, I was completely engrossed in the story, I couldn’t get enough and finished the book in one weekend (believe me for a slow reader that is pretty darn fast) I can’t wait to read more, and I cannot recommend this book more. I loved it and I hope others will read and love it too!!
