I am absolutely delighted to welcome back to the blog historical romance author; Faye Hall and to be sharing this exclusive interview with you all, plus taking a look at her brand new re-released book covers – they are gorgeous, go on take a look!

Interview

Hello Faye, Welcome back to Chicks, Rogues and Scandals! Thank you for taking the time to chat with me today.

Firstly, what five words would you use to describe yourself?

Chatty, quirky, loyal, affectionate and loud (as in voice as I grew up on a farm).

Can you tell us a little about your latest book?

I’ve just recently re-release my Sins of the Virtuous series after my last publisher shut their doors. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone book, but there are some similar minor characters that turn up in each book.

Each book takes the characters on a passionate journey of one of the 7 deadly sins whilst also showing the opposing virtue in one of the characters

This series sounds fantastic! When not writing, what do you like to do to relax?

A glass of wine out the back with my husband whilst tottering around our garden, or baking with my kids.

If you could have a holiday home anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Bowen, Queensland here in Australia. We had our honeymoon there and a family holiday and it is just the most beautiful place in the world.

Aw, that sounds wonderful, if you could have one of your books made into a film, which book would it be and who would play your lead characters?

Vanity & Humility with Douglas Booth (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) and Katie Jarvis (Fish Tank).

When writing, do you plot or just go with the flow?

I hand write a basic plot idea and character descriptions. The rest just develops as I type it out on the computer.

What three tips would you pass on to an aspiring author?

Write for you instead of trying to follow the trends.

Accept that you won’t make everyone happy.

A bad first draft is better than a blank page.

If you were hosting a dinner party what three people (dead or alive) would you invite?

My answer is sentimental – my husband’s mother, my nephew and my grandmother – all of which are deceased.

Aw, that is so lovely, thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to chat with me today, I have just one more cheeky question, just for fun; What is your favourite snacking food?

I love cheese and onion-flavoured chips (not sure what the rest of the world call them, but that’s what us Aussie’s call them.)

We call them crisps here in UK, and cheese and onion are one of my favourites too.

Thank you, Frankie x
