Review

Here we go again, Sam Harris is back and this time she is up against pure evil and time is of the essence before the world is plunged into darkness with echoes from a deadly past.

Hitler’s Finger is the second book in the marvellous Sam Harris Adventures, I read the first book; Fools Gold last month and was instantly hooked and was thrilled to get the chance to read this one and I have to say it’s even better than the first. If you haven’t read Fools don’t worry, these books are so enjoyable to read that I think you could easily read them as stand-alone, even though why would you want to miss out?

Those who have read Fools Gold will be pleased by the return of a familiar face or two, Sam is alarmed to hear the news that her good friend; Alfredo Vargas has gone missing. She soon hops onto a plane and flies back to Sierramar (people who have read the first book will recognise the place), the trip is not just about discovering what has happened to Alfredo but it’s an opportunity for her to blow away the cobwebs and have a breather from ‘real life’ which isn’t perfect.

Sam is as ever full of open-minded optimism and soul bursting for adventure, I liked Sam as soon as we met her in Fools Gold and she has green on me even more, she is a fantastic character who is developing into a strong and resilient woman and she is going to need every ounce of that resilience to get her through this ordeal.

Sam soon finds that her friends have got him into deep trouble with nonother than 21st century Nazis who are currently trying to bring the fourth Reich to the world and as we all know from history this is dangerous territory. Alfredo has found out what these people are wanting and now he has disappeared…..eeek, not good !!

I won’t say too much, as even the slightest wrong word from me will give far too much away but let’s just say that Sam has found herself in something that could just swallow her whole and if she doesn’t find a way through the viper’s pit her life and that of her friends and the world could change forever.

Hitler’s Finger is a roller coaster ride, a fast-paced compelling and high-octane adventure led all the way by our ever intrepid explorer, our very own female Indiana Jones. With villian’s which you would happily push off a cliff into the nearest erupting Volcano, old and new friends and a spiralling story full of drama, danger and adventure this book has it all, an absolute must read and it sets us up for the next book and I can’t wait!!
