Review

I am going to start this review by just sighing….deep swooning sighs!!

This book is the second instalment of the hugely glamourous Claiming the Ferrington Empire duet, and also the last (nooooo, sobs!!) unless there are more branches of the family we have yet to meet (hint, hint). This follows on from where the previous book left off, in fact, this one literally starts the following day, but if you haven’t read the first book (why heavens not?!) don’t fret this can be very easily read as a stand-alone.

There is so much that I love about this book; the characters alone grabbed my attention, they are beautifully created, I really liked that Bree is your girl-next-door, she is someone we all know, she is the best friend we have always wanted, a woman who is just so lovely and relatable I doubt anyone would not like her. Yet Theo is the opposite side of the coin, he is glamourous, baked in sunshine and prestige, I instantly loved him (not surprising, you know me and handsome tight t-shirted men, I have no shame 😉 ) but because of the wealth and the celebrity status which comes hand-in-hand within him and the other-worldly wonder about him some may take a little longer to warm to him, but he is worth persevering as there is more to this sunshine god the just the fact he fills out a nice pair of jeans and t-shirt.

I was giggling so much with the things Angel said, she didn’t even realise that was she was saying was pretty tongue-in-cheek cringe-worthy such as when she said to Bree that Theo would like “to sample her muffins” LOL!! It was totally innocent, said with so much childish innocence, yet the grown-ups (and the readers) either wanted to burst out laughing or blush in embarrassment; I was in the former category just so you know 😉

Bree, my word Bree she is a woman after my own heart, I related to her so much it was like watching myself on the page – especially with her rather lurid thoughts whenever Theo was standing before her, honestly, I thought that I had an embarrassingly x-rated (border-line perverse) imagination, but Bree may have beaten me to it. She thinks and quite often says what we all are thinking, and then kicks herself for saying what’s on her mind out loud. Yup, I’ve been there too!! The mouth speaks without engaging the brain.

Theo….ahhh, Theo!! Tempting, tantalizing, terrific…I’m running out of words beginning with T😅…..gorgeous, enticing, seductive, more than meets the eye, Theo!! 😍🔥

Where have you been my entire life (ah, yes locked inside the imagination of one Ms Stewart, naughty Rachael keeping this tantalizing man all to herself all this time without sharing….Tut, Tut!!) He bursts onto the scene in his swanky sports car and barges his way through a mutinous crowd of paparazzi and into the B&B only to be threatened with a spatular. Poor guy!

I have said it before (in fact I am sure I say it every time I read a Rachael Stewart book, bless her she must be thoroughly tired of hearing it from me by now) but I am going to say it again; this amazing woman is the ultimate queen of the swoon-worthy contemporary romance!!! Fact! My goodness, can she write a love story or what? (rhetorical question). The air crackles with ultimate true love, it’s passionate, lusty, sensuous and full of searing touches and smouldering glances. You can’t get any better!!

I thought that after reading (and loving) the previous book and meeting seductive Sebastion that that was it I was ruined, my life was complete…..only to open this book and have tempting Theo walk in and steal my affections from his brother! Ah, well, I’ll just have to double up with both of the delectable Dubois brothers then won’t I? 😉 Yup, this is how my mind works, if I can’t pick between the two, I’ll just bask in the sunlight of them both!

I absolutely loved the bond between the brothers, it’s authentic and at times brutal, they don’t hold back any punches but because of their honesty towards each other they have a wonderful respect for each other, their bond is so strong and I think by the end of this, theirs and that of the two women in their lives is going to go from strength to strength.

I can’t say enough good things about this, it’s like holding sunshine in your hand. The only thing I can against it is that it finished, I could have happily read another 200 – 300 pages and still want more from this couple. I couldn’t help but smile from ear to ear whilst reading and by the end, I was left feeling unbelievably happy!

About Rachael Stewart

Rachael Stewart adores conjuring up stories for the readers of Harlequin Mills & Boon and Deep Desires Press, with tales varying from the heartwarmingly romantic to the wildly erotic.

She’s been writing since she could put pen to paper as the stacks of scrawled on A4 sheets in her loft will attest to, and the lovingly bound short stories that her father would run off at work and proudly share out with his colleagues. Thinking it was a pipe dream to be published one day, she pursued a sensible career in business but she was really play-acting, achieving the appropriate degree and spending many years in the corporate world where she never truly belonged. Always happiest when she was sat at her laptop in the quiet hours tapping out a story or two. And so here she is a published author, her full-time pleasure, a dream come true.

A Welsh lass at heart, she now lives in Yorkshire with her husband and three children, and if she’s not glued to her laptop, she’s wrapped up in them or enjoying the great outdoors seeking out inspiration.
