I am thrilled to be a part of the blog tour and to be sharing my review for; Escaping With Her Saxon Enemy by Sarah Rodi. I love, love, love this book, and I am incredibly excited to share it with you.
About the Book
Escaping With Her Saxon Enemy
Her tempting enemy is a chink in her armour!
Viking shield maiden, Svea Ivarsson, would far rather face Saxon warriors than be on the run with the fiercely captivating Lord Ashford Stanton, protector to the Saxon King. Reaching Ash’s family castle, Svea must swap her chainmail for life as a Lady. She can wield a sword like an expert, but no training has prepared her for craving the touch of her greatest enemy…
Escaping with her Saxon Enemy is AMAZING!!
Yes, I did have to shout that, it has everything – and I mean EVERYTHING I want in a historical romance!😍
Enemies to lovers trope.
A swoon-worthy hero who you would happily fall to your knees in a wilting mess.🔥
A determined – if vulnerable heroine who must face her past and her fears to find happiness.
A sweeping story full of drama.
After reading Sarah Rodi’s debut, I was very excited about reading more from her and she did not disappoint this is a gorgeous, heartfelt and sweeping enemies to lovers romance (which is my favourite kind of romance).
This tells the story of how Sheild Maiden; Svea, she is a fierce, determined, strong, ferocious warrior, a fighter and protector and defiant in her conviction that she would never marry. She has such a heartbreaking back story, her past has impacted her character hugely, it has foretold her destination in her life and made her far more vulnerable and fragile beneath the steel chain mail than she would ever admit.
My heart broke for Svea, that she has been forced into a position where she feels she must hide who she is, to protect herself as a woman she must hide being a woman and that broke my heart, and that made her heart harden and revenge surging through her veins.
In wanting to seek her own revenge, things happen and she finds herself on the run with her enemy; adorable, sexy (incredibly sexy – phew, this guy is a like a huge burning flame to this little Yorkshire moth – or a piece of cake which I want to devour 😉 ) Ashton has his past, his own traumas which he must deal with. There is more to this glorious Saxon stud than his large arms, beneath the steel like hard shell lies a gentle soul.
I loved their journey to happiness, it’s hard and despite there being a tantalizing and crackling atmosphere whenever they’re near each other, their blossoming romance takes its time, it’s a slow burner but worth every step In the journey as the end is absolutely beautiful.
There isn’t a single thing I didn’t love about this book, from the mouth-wateringly gorgeous cover to the heartfelt and mesmerising story. It’s an absolute delight and captivating love story!
