Review

Firstly, let’s take a moment to fully appreciate just how gorgeous the cover to this book is, I mean come on who doesn’t love a tattooed blonde Viking? I have serious cover love here, so much so I will admit to gazing lovingly at it far too much than is strictly necessary – or should I mean staring openly at the gloriously well-formed arms of our hero…..seriously look at his arms!! I do love a shapely arm, don’t you?

The Viking’s Stolen Princess is a delicious enemies-to-lovers which tells the story of how a Princess who has an arranged marriage hanging over her head, a Princess who wants more and hates the thought of being a bargaining chip for her father. And a Viking out for revenge, a ruthless, steel-hardened man who has hatred and vengeance thrumming through his veins. The only way he can get the revenge he has sought for so long is to steal away his enemies bride, but as with all brilliant plan’s, they don’t always follow the intended course and in this case, two enemies turn very much too sizzling, tempting, lustful lovers.

Enemies to Lovers has always been my favourite trope in the romance genre, I love the battles between the couple the tantalising, complicated, complex, captivating energy which emits from each as they banter and bicker ad this is no different. This has everything you would want in a historical romance venue filled romance with pure emotion. What more could you want?

I love, love, love (do you think I can get away with a few more loves ?) love, love this hardened, growly, ruthless, steely-eyed, beautifully dangerous man. My Gawd, Brand is incredible!! I love a rough-around the edges blood-thirsty Viking, but this one is so much more than the stereotype. Hidden beneath the hard glares, brutal speaking and captive scaring warring persona lies a damaged man who has inner insecurities and fears of losing those who he allows close. He shows surprising gentleness and kindness towards Anne and that makes me love him all the more.

I was completely bowled over with Sarah Rodi’s debut, to be perfectly honest I can’t believe that this is her first book I am astounded, she writes with such passion you can instantly see that she has put her whole heart and soul into this mesmerizing debut and I can’t wait to read more from her, I can see many great things heading in Rodi’s direction.

I was completely gripped from the start, the opening is highly dramatic with the capture of our heroine;  Princess Anne, from that moment onwards you are catapulted into Brand and Anne’s dangerous and emotionally fraught world. Rodi does an incredible job at luring the reader in with her enticing and compelling story that is full of drama and emotion with two characters you instantly like.

The pacing is spot on, you are taken on a wonderful journey of discovery and finding happiness, time flies as your read and you are swept up in every scene. It feels like a relatively short novel, which has everything to do with the fact that this is so damn enjoyable and thoroughly engaging.

Overall, This is a stunningly atmospheric and richly detailed historical romance, which takes the readers captive with its enthralling and suspenceful plot which is perfectly entwined with a beautiful love story.
