Review
Bring on the Vikings!!!
Anyone who follows the blog will know how much I love a Viking romance and the Mills and Boon/Harlequin authors are some of the very best at writing smoking, sizzling, sexy, smouldering hot Viking’s with feisty, strong-willed, determined, intelligent women who put these hardened warriors in their place. A Nun for the Viking Warrior is no different, it’s everything above and so much more.
A Nun for the Viking Warrior is as gorgeous as the cover, the story will take you on an unforgettable journey that will leave you breathless for more.
Jorund, Jorund, Jorund – ahh, I am all a fluster!!!
What a man, what a character, I have fallen head over heels for this fearsome teddy bear, he may look like the stereotypical violently fearsome Viking but after a lifetime of being one of the hated Northmen, doing all that comes with the job he is wanting peace. He is troubled by his past and what he has seen and done, but as is the case it’s harder to walk away from your past than it is to start a future, but he is resilient, he is determined and works so hard to make a new life for himself. He has held on tightly to the dream of a family; a wife and children, a home and most of all peace. No more fighting, no more pillaging or killing, just quietness.
Amee is a wonderful woman, she hasn’t been treated properly; used by men for their gain, not more so than by her father. She has intelligence and insight too so she knows that she is nothing more than a chess piece which is why she takes her life into her own hands, so she decides to become a nun, fair enough not a life for everyone and deep down not for our Amee. But, her father has other ideas and soon promises her to rugged Jorund.
That first page when he comes to ‘claim’ her had me hooked, I was riveted to the page and from then on I couldn’t book the book down. If I could have got away with locking myself away and read non-stop to the very end, I would have. But, ‘real’ life gets in the way, doesn’t it?
The romance is gorgeous, Amee and Jorund are so different and set in a way they share traits that pulls them together, both running from their pasts, both I suspect lonely and yearning for more, they are both strong and will fight for what they want. I love that they both learn so much about not just each other and their different cultures, but they learn about themselves.
I thoroughly enjoyed their steamy, spine-tinglingly gorgeous romance, their love develops beautifully, it’s slow and steady but oozes chemistry, with longingly lustful glances, dynamic dialogue and each learning to overcome their past and to work through difficulties, they learn to accept who they are.
Lucy Morris is destined to be a hugely successful author, she captures each scene with such vivid clarity, her writing is enthused with passion.
A Nun for the Viking Warrior is a mesmerising, alluring, magical, dramatic and highly original Viking romance, it has the best couple I’ve ‘met’ for a long, long time, Amee and Jorund are amazing, fire and brimstone bubbles between them which then rolls into lust and love.
It’s a beautiful tale of finding love and learning acceptance and compassion.
