Today on Chicks Rogues and Scandals I have the huge pleasure of having Best Selling author Lori-Ann Bailey visit, so take a seat and let’s get to know a little more about the Lovely Lori-Ann.
Author Bio
Lori Ann Bailey has a romantic soul and believes the best in everyone. Sappy commercials and proud mommy moments make her cry. She sobs uncontrollably and feels emotionally drained when reading sad books, so she started reading romance for the Happily Ever Afters. She was hooked. Then, the characters and scenes that ran around in her head as she attempted to sleep at night begged to be let out. Looking back now, her favorite class in high school was the one where a professor pulled a desk to the center of the room and told her to write two paragraphs about it and the college English class taught by a red-headed Birkenstock wearing girl, not much older than she, who introduced her to Jack Kerouac. After working in business and years as a stay-at-home mom she has found something in addition to her family to be passionate about, her books. She lives in Northern Virginia with her real life hero, four kids that keep her on her toes, two dogs determined to destroy her house and two cats secretly plotting the demise of those dogs.

Hi Lori Ann and welcome to Chicks, Rogues and Scandals, Thank you for taking the time to chat with me today, Firstly what five word’s would you use to describe yourself?
City girl with country heart.
Very nice, If you could live in any era and place, When and where would it be? And Why?
17th Centuary Scotland
Who was your childhood hero?
Back before I realized I was tone deaf, I wanted to be a country singer. I even wrote a couple of songs. I think my first underage, never had a boyfriend song was called He’s Walking Out on Me. Thankfully, those songs were lost a long time ago, but the love for my childhood idol, Loretta Lynn, has remained constant. The movie Coal Miner’s Daughter came out when I was seven. My father owned a small cable business and I used to run around my house singing I was a cable man’s daughter.
OK, Thank you, What is your favourite time of the year?
There are so many reasons fall is my favorite season. Sweatshirts, football, everything pumpkin, Halloween, Thanksgiving, the beautiful foliage and sitting outside with a cup of coffee or hot tea are some of my favorites.
Great, I have to say that Autumn or Fall is my personal favourite time of year too. Ok time for a tough one, Out of all your work, who is your favourite character and why?
Brodie Cameron is introduced in Highland Deception as an unrepentant rogue. In Highland Redemption we find out why he has become the person that he himself hates. I feel that his journey lets us see into his soul and redeems him into someone we can all love.
Nice, Thank you. Your books are incredible, where doe’s your inspiration for them come from?
The bathtub and a brain that won’t shut off when I’m attempting to sleep at night.
In the bathtub, LOL!! I love that, What three tips would you pass on to an aspiring author?
- Find your writing tribe – those people that will stand by you, know what you’re going through and help you find your way.
- Sign up for every workshop you can – I still attend everyone possible, because there is always something to learn.
- Network – With authors and readers – you never know who could be sitting next to you in one of those workshops: a friend, an advisor or possibly even the next NYT Best Seller
What fantastic tips Thank you, Lori Ann, for sharing those, If you were hosting a dinner party what three people would you invite? (They can be real/fictional, dead or alive)
Mary Queen of Scots, Luke Bryan and my husband’s mom who never got to meet our children
Now that is quite an eclectic dinner party. Thank you again Lori for taking the time out of your busy schedule to chat with me today, I have just one more cheeky question, just for fun. . .What is your all-time favourite naughty but nice food?
Warm, chewy chocolate chip cookies
Mmmm!! Yumm,
