I said earlier in the week that I have a brilliant author dropping by to chat well I have kept you all waiting long enough, so I have the great pleasure to welcome Best Selling Author Samanthya Wyatt, to Chick’s Rogue and Scandal’s, so take a seat and let’s get to know Samanthya a little better. . .
“I write because I enjoy it. And because I hope to give someone else the pleasure of a romance. Whether you want to escape reality or just live in the moment of fantasy, I hope you will enjoy a few hours of reading one of my books. I enjoy penning a story with strong characters, a bit of humor, and active scenes. I invite you to lay the worries of the world off your shoulders and get lost in the pages of a romance, where you embark on a journey with the hero and heroine, become involved in a dream, plunge into a world of fantasy, live an adventure your heart can share. Keep the Spirit!” ~ Samanthya Wyatt
Reading Chick: Hi Samanthya, Welcome to Chicks, Rogues and Scandals, Thank you for taking the time to chat with me today, Firstly what five word’s would you use to describe yourself?
Samanthya: Hello, Frankie. I’m pleased to be here. Oh, my, let me see. Five words: FUN – INTENSE – DEEP – LIVELY – HEART
Reading Chick: Very interesting; If you could live in any era and place, When and where would it be? And Why?
Samanthya: I would love to live in the Regency period with Dukes and Lords and balls. The background for our novels is so romantic, and a dashing Lord ripped with muscle and an attitude sounds like a perfect experience to me.
Reading Chick: Oh yes!! That sound’s really good to me, after all who doesn’t love a ripped and dashing lord? *Grin* OK, Who was your childhood hero?
Samanthya: Would you believe ‘Popeye’? I knew you’d laugh, and I’m telling my age. I had a corncob pipe and hat that came from the cartoon network. I was a tomboy, never a girly girl.
Reading Chick: Popeye! I love it, I would have loved to have seen that, brilliant. What is your favorite time of the year?
Samanthya: Most definitely SUMMER. I love warm weather and love the beach.
Reading Chick: Nice, Out of all your work, who is your favorite character and why?
Samantha: This is so hard. I’m finding with every book I write, my current characters are my favorite. But I will say Morgan & Kat in my first historical. She is a spirited female and Morgan is the dashing Lord to her rescue. From the characters introduced—and certainly involved in their story—the next two books in the series were created.
Reading Chick: I do like to get those little grey cell’s active *Grins* Your book’s are incredible, where doe’s your inspiration for them come from?
Samanthya: Thank you, Frankie, for your kind praise. The characters took over and shouted for their story to be heard. Kat’s brother’s absence was very mysterious, so his story had to be told. I had fans contact me and ask if the duke would have a story, so of course I gave my fans what they wanted. I love historical, but I also write contemporary. I simply decided on characters who interested me and thought my readers would enjoy. After all, who doesn’t love a hot military guy, featured in my latest book. Or a hot firefighter, of which I have several works in progress.
Reading Chick: Your welcome Samanthya and I can definitely agree with you about Military Men, I do have a soft spot for a guy in uniform, What three tip’s would you pass on to an aspiring author?
Samanthya: No# 1. Join RWA. From there you learn to do a number of things. You can join chapter groups, critique groups, you’ll find friends and receive a lot of help.
No# 2. Take every workshop offered—GMC, POV, character interviews, etc. Believe me, you’ll be glad you did. Enter contests and keep your mind open. Take criticism as constructive.
No# 3. Don’t give up. Becoming published is a long, hard process. If you are determined, keep trying.
Reading Chick: Wow! Those are some brilliant tip’s, Thank you Samanthya for those, If you were hosting a dinner party what three people would you invite? (They can be real/fictional, dead or alive)
Samanthya: Clark Gable – John Wayne – Vincent Price. These were fascinating men.
Reading Chick: Ooh! Very interesting choice, those were three very different but great men, I like it! Thank you again Samanthya for taking the time out of your busy schedule to chat with me today, I have just one more cheeky question, just for fun. . .What is your all time favorite naughty but nice food?
Samanthya: The ice cream brownie you get at most steak houses. Loaded chocolate with melting ice cream. Sinfully delicious.
Reading Chick: Mmmm! That sound’s sooo good. Yummy!
