Reading Chick : Hi Lauren, Welcome to Chicks, Rogues and Scandals, Thank you for taking the time to chat with me today, Firstly what five word’s would you use to describe yourself?
Lauren : Imaginative, hopeful, playful, determined, organized
Reading Chick : Lovely, If you could live in any era and place, When and where would it be? And Why?
Lauren : The late Victorian era. I love the fashion, all those bustle gowns, and the literature of that time period was spectacular and there was just enough of technology to not make it the stone age.
Reading Chick : Oh very nice, Ok, Who was your childhood hero?
lauren : John Williams, he’s movie music composer who did the music for Star Wars, Jaws, Harry Potter and so many other movies. His talent is amazing and he genuinely enjoys his career and I really admire that about him.
Reading Chick : I like that one, I don’t think there is a person on earth who doesn’t know at least one of his work. What is your favorite time of the year?
Lauren : The fall particularly around Halloween when the dried leaves scuttle across the ground like spiders and the cold breeze that smells of pumpkins and distant snow teases my nose. There’s a fascinating eeriness to the darkgolds and reds of the leaves and the lights of jack-o-lanterns in the fall.
Reading Chick : I have to say that Autumn (Fall) is my favorite time of year too, right one we go, Out of all your work, who is your favorite character and why?
Lauren : That’s definitely one of the hardest questions to answer. My favorite characters tend to be whoever I’m writing at that moment, so it changes from book to book. Currently it would have to be Ashton Lennox, the calm, baron from my League of Rogues series.
Reading Chick : Nice! I do try and get people’s little grey cell’s going’s, it’s no fun if all the question’s were easy *Grin’s* Your book’s are incredible, where does your inspiration for them come from?
Lauren : Usually my inspiration comes from music, movies and TV. I always get inspired by other stories. Typically the stories I get inspired by have nothing to do with the plot they end up inspiring. For example I got obsessed with a sci-fi bounty hunter shows called Killjoys and it got me through a creative hump in my new adult contemporary romance series Her British Stepbrother.
Reading Chick : That’s really interesting, What three tip’s would you pass on to an aspiring author?
Lauren : a. Find out what you like to write (don’t try to write a mix of genres, pick one that suits you) b. Find out what sells best in that genre and read a bunch of it. c. Get connected to other writers and associations in that genre to learn about how to sell and be successful for this genre.
Reading Chick : Wow those are some brilliant tip’s thank you Lauren, If you were hosting a dinner party what three people would you invite? (They can be real/fictional, dead or alive)
Lauren : a. Catherine the Great. b. Agatha Christie c. H. Rider Haggard
Reading Chick : Ooh I like those, that would one very interesting dinner party, can I come too? Thank you again for taking the time out of your busy schedule to chat with me today, I have just one more cheeky question, just for fun. . .What is your all time favorite naughty but nice food?
Lauren : My mother’s homemade chocolate fudge recipe. As I am answering this question, she is making a batch right now *grins.*
Reading Chick : Homemade Fudge, oh that sound’s like pure heaven. Thank you again Lauren.
